Classroom Volunteer Positions

Head Room Parent 

  • Primary liaison between Teacher and class parent
  •  Responsible for disseminating emails and information to their classes sent by WAVE, Room Parent Coordinator, and Principal in a timely manner.
  •  Any unfilled positions will be filled by the Room parent.
  •  Manages and maintains the class WhatsApp chat in accordance with Warner's vision statement.

** If selected as Head Room Parent, you must be able to attend MANDATORY HRP MEETING on Monday, August 28th at 8:45 am. Additionally, Room Parent OR an alternate parent volunteer representative must attend EVERY WAVE meeting!

 

Class Treasurer

  • Works closely with the Teacher to manage classroom budget.
  • Coordinates with Room Parent to collect, hold, and distribute all class funds for field trips, class celebrations, etc., and reimburses parents within the class budget (CANNOT be the Head Room Parent).

*** If selected as Treasurer, you must be able to attend MANDATORY TREASURER MEETING on Tuesday, August 29th at 8:20 am. 

 

Social Chair  

  • Engage parents in your class (with or without children) in social events/functions to be planned outside of school.
  • Provide an avenue for parents and students in the class to get to know one another better and promote class unity.
  • Assists with planning grade-level social event at the beginning of the school year.
 

Class Celebrations Chair

  • Organizes any class celebrations with the input/consent of the teacher and the aid of other volunteers.
  • Takes photographs of all the students in the class at various classroom events. *Photos may be requested by WAVE Yearbook Chair and used in the yearbook.
 

Annual Fund Representative

  •  Serves as a resource to the class for information about the fund.
  • Encourages 100% class participation in the Annual Fund. 

Carpool

  • Coordinates class volunteers for working the carpool lanes twice a year for each classroom.
  • Ensures spots are filled for the weeks assigned with the Sign-Up genius provided by the WAVE Carpool Chair.

 

Class Field Trips

  • Assists the teacher in organizing field trips and arranging for drivers.
  • Coordinates with WAVE Field Trip Chair to collect all necessary information (proof of insurance, copies of driver license, etc) from drivers.
  • Ensures all drivers are cleared as volunteers through LAUSD.

 

Emergency

  • Examines and updates, if necessary, the classroom earthquake kit and emergency supplies. Checklist will be provided at the beginning of the year. * Any supplies needing to be replenished will be reimbursed by WAVE.

 

Halloween Haunt 

  • Acts as a liaison between Haunt Chairs and classroom to help raise awareness and excitement about the event.
  • Coordinates class volunteers for the Halloween Haunt to work in the designated class booth at the Haunt.
  • Signs up for a shift to sell Haunt merchandise.
  • Must attend all Haunt rep meetings.

 

Hospitality

  • Coordinates class participation to provide refreshments and supplies for 1-2 monthly WAVE meetings per year.

 Garden Rep

  • Assists teacher with the garden project for each classroom, which will include purchasing materials (for reimbursement) for garden beds and helping students with gardening.

 

Library 

  • Assist teacher in the school library during the class's assigned library time for 1/2 hour every week (please check with teacher to confirm you are available during that time). 

 

Spring Gala + Auction Class Representative

  • Acts as a liaison between Gala/Auction Chairs and classroom to help raise awareness and excitement about the event.
  • Helps to solicit a minimum of five donations to be auctioned off at the event.
  • Must attend all Gala/Auction Rep meetings.

 

Spring Auction Art Project (UTK/Kindergarten ONLY) 

  • Organizes and/or creates the classroom art project to be auctioned off at the Spring Gala + Auction.

 

Warner Walk (2 PEOPLE NEEDED) and MUST be available Friday, May 9, 2025, 1-2PM

  • Acts as a liaison between Walk chairs and classroom to help raise awareness and excitement about the event.
  • Signs up to work a shift to sell Walk merchandise.
  • Tallies all pledge cards for the class immediately following the Walk.
  • Must attend all Walk Rep meetings.
